Cold rain runs off the rooftops to mingle with her hot tears;
Her warm breath fighting for space in the chilled night air.

Lifting her eyes from the wet streets looking deep into your soul;
She begs not, yet her eyes plead for a warm touch and a loving word to help her through.

Air thick with sickness, his tears chasing one another down to drown in the pillow;
His breath fighting to reach down and bring up life.

He does not beg you, yet his eyes plead for forgiveness,
Needing understanding and a loving touch to carry him through to the end.

An atmosphere ripe with anticipation as we wipe away their tears with downy blankets;
Their tiny cries accumulate into the wind which howls through our hearts when we feel alone.

Tiny eyes lifting from their cribs, they look deep into your soul.
They only ask for our loving care and acceptance of them and who they shall be.
