FORSYTHIA!
FORSYTHIA!
With golden arms outstretched to the sun
Oh Forsythia!
At first glimpse of spring
A bright reminder as the seasons do draw on
FORSYTHIA I CRY!
My blonde lover - my muse
My only light in depths of winter
What sun has warmed thee?
What sultry hand has graced thy face and
painted such joy on lips so radiant?
My Sweet, Shining Forsythia
What summers crown does crest your head so curtly?
You scream loud with the pleasures of spring to come
Yet I search far and wide and find only the glum!
Aside from you dear Forsythia!
I lift my arms and my chin to the sky,
but for you Forsythia!
In rendition of the dance you perform so well
come early spring
mine eyes shall take you in-
in those last dark moments of dank despondence
I'll remember your flaxen mane
and how you lit up a dull hedge like it was May,
though it was not quite March.
FORSYTHIA!
My ever enduring,
Forsythia!
