I've chosen to go about Life my own way and not always take the path that many have taken.
Anyone who thinks the traveled path is the only way is terribly mistaken.
Little that I do in my life is pre-planned.
That's something many in my life just don't understand.

I reject monotony and embrace spontaneity.
I reject conformity and embrace nonconformity
I reject rigidity and embrace flexibility.
I live to be free--free to be me.

To move about freely is my best intention.
I bristle at rigidity and scoff at pretension.
'Cause I'm so different I don't really fit in.
I am my own man, but that's not a sin.

I detest snobs and mobs--who espouse conformity
Because I'm a man who believes in just being me.
I don't care what other people think.
Those who are shallow stagnate and stink.

Much of what I do is entirely unplanned,
And that's what many can't understand.
To them all is black and white and night and day
Instead of being in several shades of gray.

Because they lack spine, they're stiff with technique.
They want to fit in instead of being unique.
There's a time to conform and a time to be free.
Free--I'm most happy when I'm allowed to be.
