Restraint is the order of the day.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
We are made of colors, I’m sure you will agree,
And life is just the canvass which we paint.
And every thought and feeling, every word that we create
Should be added on with a great deal of restraint.
We cannot have a painting that is drab and dull and grey,
With only muted tones on its expanse.
If this kind of living artwork personifies your life’s worth,
Not one soul will merit you a second glance.
On the other hand, a painting with brazen colors wild,
Running riot on an easel board before you,
With no shapes to recognize, and no features realized,
You’re a painting with a muddled point of view.
Thus, we cannot just be somber nor can we be tres sauvage,
It’s the happy mix of what lies in – between
That will make our life’s creation resemble near perfection
Clothed or naked – we would all want to be seen.
We have all stepped out of bounds…to “slap” another….figuratively or physically….
We can only hope to learn from our error and then find the proper balance … the picture of ourselves we paint with our words and actions….
Beautiful thoughts with words that create and describe them. Well done, as always, Maya.
