and gripping thighs to stay grounded.
He’s got me speaking in tongues & swearing he
grew more hands to feel me with
but the trance won’t let me talk logistics.

I’ve come to savor the layer between us,
brushing my palm against soft fabric & feeling stiff
blood pulsing underneath it.

Whether drawstrings or heartstrings,
we’re both pulling our weight
while we make one another
