The Persuaders and Pretenders warned
How quick this all could switch
But I refused to listen

Would not imagine these callous words
Falling so heavy from my lips
But I know I said them

Emotions are now unbound from soul but
Anger's the only one that feeds to exist
Off frozen slices of wedding cake

Lips once caressed now kissed with hard stone fists
I step across the thin lines of our failed union
Cursing bonds thought sacred
