HAPPY HALLOWEEN

To celebrate All hallows Eve,
in the high street I take a stroll,
witches in looms their tales weave,
to tapestries detailed but small.

I spot a naughty pretty witch,
smiling to me, adding a wink,
then indicating her ditch,
where we could hide for a drink.

What shall it be, scotch on the rocks,
a bloody Mary, any fluid,
I hope not blood, it gives me chocks,
and then how could I be her druid?

"Give it a miss", I prompt myself,
"better to be on the safe side,
away from any enchanting elf,
when words don’t fit and tales collide."

Just carrying on my evening stroll,
weaving my tale, I shall begin,
I am a veritable Norse troll,
wishing you "Happy Halloween".

*****

Have a good cheer, poetic trolls,
going out to please and to be pleased,
Woden and Frig may warm your souls,
and have your appetites increased.

I've a lost a lover, found a new,
but I am out for something more,
which is my witch"? I wish I knew,
but still would wish for an encore.

Encore of what? Encore of you?
I'm not too sure, apply within,
this is another deja scru,
'wish you good luck, 'know what I mean?

So, that's the life of a troll,
I've had my dinner, all that stuff,
but never an incoming call,
out of the question, fair enough.

Have a good cheer, my fellow trolls,
some you may loose, some you may win,
it is too late for nightly calls,
I wish you Happy Halloween!
