I used to write a lot of poems about
women
with fires in their eyes
who would madden me
but captivate me at the same time.
Now they have all scurried home
In a dystopian haze.
I was a pathetic and broken creature
Lacking in a will to thrive according to the blueprint
The Sumerian scroll of the predefined universe
But I enjoyed the plunge toward the anti-thrive.
Now there’s a world pandemic
And I’m stuck between two of the
Stupidest countries on earth
One a theological tyranny
Another a corporate tyranny
And I’ve been locked up in a nothing hapless universe for
Five months
Every day I notice
The heart still seems to beat
Like a court jester
Goofing and laughing at me
And not allowing me to give up.
I want to give up though.
Fucking heart
