How many times
can love be taken away,
before it becomes
withered and old?
How many nights
must be spent all alone,
wishing for someone to hold?

Where can I go
to find another soul
who is
looking for someone like me,
to fan the flame,
and to share the same name,
to share with the rest of my days?

How will I know
if it's right or if it's wrong?
What if I go the wrong way,
and if it's right
will I see the light,
or will I throw it all away?

How many roads must a man walk down, before he can be what he wants? And how many times can others turn their heads forcing him to be all alone? The answer it seems is to just be yourself and live this life that you own — yeh, the answer is hard — it's been so long — when will love finally right all the wrong?

Nice poem/rhyme Alex, love your creative beauty — thanks for these thoughts from the depths of your soul.

This poem really speaks to me with it's depictions of loneliness and the need for validation on a deeper level. I too wonder if I will recognize that perfect love when I see it, or if I will let it slip through my fingers. I love the way you ended the poem with the sense of personal accountability for your happiness. Bravo

A set of questions many ask themselves. But let me ask as well:

How many times can love feel so completely new and unique like none before, that let's you feel young and like a fool again?

Will the light come to you if you stand and wait?

...
