From across the old church's pewless floor
haloed by the arching stained-glass panes;
greeting me with blessed communion whole,
solitary woman, of lanky frame.
I wish to become partners this moment;
I want to make dance with you.

To Latin songs of love and passion
in language bailadores know as sway,
and Blues translated into steps and pauses,
with core connection in a close embrace.
I wish you with me for all this rhythm;
I want to make dance with you.

Who is this mystery with waves of graying,
dark chocolate eyes and milky way smile,
whose textures invite most eager fingers,
whose silky movements leave one beguiled?
I wish us cheek to cheek forever;
I want to make dance with you.
