If Angels Flew So Low

A fated wind caressed his face,
As the moonbeams blanketed the earth.
One star shined beyond the rest,
For a moment the night was still.

Before he could think she was there,
Breathtaking in her beauty, Heaven to the touch.
The stars had been listening to his heart,
But an angel was to grant his prayer.

Her eyes captured his very being,
Holding within them passion, grace, and love.
With all his strength, he had not the will to look away,
For in them he found the half that was to make him whole.

Her smile was pure, directly from her heart,
Forcing all around her to sigh in admiration.
At the sound of her voice, a heartbeat was skipped,
For all her words were a song

With the touch of her hand he reached heaven,
And when they embraced he became an angel.
He no longer saw the moon & stars, nor felt the wind,
Only she existed.

Her breath was his wind, Her eyes were his stars,
and his heart was the moon to shine above them all.
He gathered his courage, fortified his soul,
To simply press his lips to hers.

Her kiss was the inspiration of all art,
Yet impossible to recreate.
Never to see its equal, the embrace was released,
And an angel was once again among her stars.

For a lifetime he would feel her lips,
Reliving the kiss in his thoughts and dreams.
And each night he looked for that one bright star,
As he remembered an angel that flew to low.
