We met in Paris
in black-and-white
the dress you wore
fit you right,
I wore a shirt
and a tie
storm clouds
in the sky,

We had a drink
a bite to eat
asked you what
you would think,
Of having coffee
the following day
asked if you
would like to stay,

Sleep with me
my little space
back to back
face to face,
Make love in
the Paris air
run my fingers
through your hair,

We walked there
hand in hand
a black-and-white
enchanted land,
Took a boat
across the Seine
got there just
before the rain,

Up the stairs
corner flat
bottle of wine
this and that,
Removed my tie
unzipped your dress
kissed your lips
I confess,

Minutes passed
like drifting clouds
street noise below
Parisian crowds,
Your perfume
your lingerie
both out
of words to say,

Just the feeling
the sensation
my work travel
your vacation,
I poured the wine
in bathroom glasses
we toasted to
the unwashed masses,

At the window
we absorbed the view
no rush to do
what we would do,
We touched each other
in as lovers might
gas lights lit
for coming night,

We drank the last
sip of wine
found the space
found the time,
Found a position
that worked for us
no hassle
no fuss,

We took our time
breathing deep
memories
for years, to keep,
Fell to sleep
in warm embrace
not back to back
but face to face …
