It’s not that I miss you
Because you’re absent from me
That’s something that has never been
Since the first day I laid eyes upon you

The pain I feel is your presence
Which cannot be consummated
With holding your hand, or a knowing glance between

Which can only relive
The joy of the warmth of your smile
Transfiguring my mind and my heart

What we shared changed everything
And you made me into something new
A form that I had never been before

It’s not that I miss you
Because you’re absent from me
You’re a part of the fabric of my soul
Ever, until I cease to be
