Congo is an unfortunate connotation, well of the Congo, also Vachel Lindsay. Here (in one of the few times I would do this) I would recommend the ol ghost of pentameter, counter pointed heavily to four beats. Syncopation and all that jazz.
* not that there is anything wrong with Vachel, but the focus is jazz here. As far as the Congo, you don't want to go there.
Easy 100
The only time someone has used the word dissonance without making me 'eek'. Lovely writing Angeline and it sounds brilliant a picturebook read out by an old friend with a strong Welsh accent.
Good to read you again, Miss Angeline
Look what you gone and done here:
"for flathat cats for hi hats
brush four four the minor
tenor moans gutbucket stops
to vamp and damn "
I would love to hear this one read :)
.....this is the experiment you speak of in the PDF then have no more worries - it worked and well. Breathless and bold.
