Do you have a minute?
For if you do, I want it
I rarely collect the first minutes
Those are but sixty seconds

It is the third that I must farm
For the third time's a charm
Say hello to your friendly time burglar
A fellow irregular

A minute may be minute
But it isn't moot
One day you may find need of it
When you hear the phrase - It'll only take you a minute

It is often said that the giving hand is longer
And this hand of time gives you another
Yet it always returns to the one beside the one
Passing by eleven strangers just to catch a glimpse of the one

I can express love in a minute
Cling to a lover for a minute
But just like the hand
I must leave with the trickle of the sand

I told you I collect minutes
But I said nothing of my own minutes

When it is my last minute
I will make that journey past eleven good friends one last time
And this time, I will stop before the one
Look her in the eye and ask just once

Do you have a minute?

And then, I will disappear
