There must be ways to nip these
aches in the bud.
I am 2 root canals into preventing another nerve
from ever vexing me again but I can't forget
how it felt to cut ties with my own body.
I take my coffee
half-sweet, with the certainty of passing time
from the losing of heat. I think I could learn
how to be someone apathetic.
I am living the dream, or a dull parallel of it.
Red, white, and blue
make for a nice lavender
and I think of all the flowers out there
lucky to exist in such a color.
