You told me you were a little
And that I might be one too
That we could play together
As innocently as littles do

That we could color outside the lines
Of coloring books with thick black lines
And watch a cartoon
Or maybe two

And in the bedroom we can play like this too
Make a mess as we finger paint
Smudging flesh
With reds and greens and blues
Dressing up in funny clothes
And dressing down
When no other is around

Explore with me now
Our tender nudity
With eyes so wide
And a sense of purity

And when we're spent with a night of play
Cuddle close
As the songs of a far off past
Serenade us back to sleep at last

Before returning to boorish lives
Shake me, wake me
As the sun does rise
And whisper of the dreams
You lived with me that night
