There comes a time in a man's life
When he stops to consider the past
Longing for years gone by
Wishing he could go back

Youthful dreams long since faded
The world was there for the taking
So many plans and ideas
So much potential never to be realized

Youthful dreams are replaced
Goals of an adult taking their place
Innocence long since forgotten
Life and the real world now the focus

If only he could go back do it all again
Revel in his youth
When his whole life is in front of him
Relive the glory years

The desire go back is almost painful
Not to do things differently
Except to maybe slow down
Not race to manhood putting youth behind

Enjoy the time he has
Appreciate life as it happens
What seems an eternity when young
Is over in a blink of an eye

There comes a time in a man's life
When he stops to consider the past
Longing for years gone by
Wishing he could go back

I look back sadly. Seems like every time I made a life changing decision I chose wrong.

If I had a genie in a bottle, I would go back. Not to recapture my youth, but only to right the wrongs.

Those people that say 'no regrets' lie. I can think of at least 6 instances in the past that I ask myself... what the hell were you thinking. consider replacing the second youthful dreams in the 3rd stanza with a similar phrase. Most definitely would NOT want to go through my life again 5ed.
