I pray you, do not trample on my dreams.
Though you may only see this mortal shell,
A frail thing of flesh; this outward reality,
Is of no greater substance than the air,
Masking the real truth that lies within
From the unperceptive gaze of the world.
Though my years have passed the Biblical span
And I am well advanced on the dread path
That leads to senility and decay,
And though my limbs are clothed in sagging flesh,
Where in my youth there was beauty of form,
To my inward mind I am still that youth
Who rejoiced in unbounded energy,
Striding confident into the future.

Though my joints are now stiff, and my knees groan
In protest each time I rise from my chair,
To my inward mind I am still that youth
Who rejoiced in unbounded energy,
Striding confident into the future,
Bold in manly strength and undimmed vigour,
With tautly balanced muscles, lithe in grace.
I can still recall those days long ago
When my soul unbridled by thoughts of love,
I wandered the world in search of pleasure,
And the many gardens where I dallied
To sample the sweet exquisite blossoms,
Parting their delicate petals to feast
My senses on their delicious nectar.

My love, though now you sadly share my fate,
And age has stolen the sheen from your hair,
Your body prey to time’s harsh ravages,
In the nubile innocence of springtime
You too enjoyed the sweet carnal delights
Of surrender to the hot piercing steel
Of many ardent knights bent on plunder,
Whose thrusting vigour carried you to bliss.
In your mellow beauty I still delight,
And in the bright fields of our secret love
We will gladly dance, eternally joined
In one flesh, our souls unbound in joyful
Ecstasy, rising up in sweet rapture,
As we consummate our mutual passion.

The blissful feel of your soft lips on mine
Will never lose its delicious savour
Our tongues entwining in such sweet delight;
And your naked breasts are as soft and warm,
As they were in the blooming of your youth,
While firm with eager intoxication,
Your nipples still trace entrancing patterns
On my chest as we embrace face to face,
The delicious folds of your female centre
Unfolding beneath my impassioned touch,
And wrapping me in their clinging embrace,
As my hard and throbbing manhood thrusts deep
Into the heart of your welcoming soul,
There to spill its sweet offering of love.

Springtime flowers may seduce our senses
With their brilliant primary colours
And the heady freshness of their perfume,
But by far the richest hues are reserved
For the blooms of autumn’s fruitful splendour,
And the loving of our maturity,
Ascends to majestic heights of rapture
Unimagined by youthful callowness.
We are for ever destined to be one,
United in body, mind and spirit,
Our love triumphant over death itself.
And so once more I humbly ask and pray
That you will never trample on my dreams,
For in your arms is my eternity.

This is a very ambitious poem, in its length, its use of iambic pentameter (which is done with surprising consistency and effectiveness), its imagery, and its message. I enjoyed it. The last stanza, in particular, was powerful. The spring - autumn color contrast was done without coming across as a cliche. I liked "autumn's fruitful splendour." And I sense the message is one you genuinely feel. Very nicely done!
