In the North & in the South a Magnet

As real as any dream could be
You came to me
Teasing
A tempting young thing
As if you knew what was in my heart
You knew my soul
Pulling me in
Letting me go
Teasing.

Then you disappeared
Life needed living
And we drifted apart
But like a magnet
With that invisible force
You the North
Me the South
We came back to be
Not on your own
Together.

Those days apart I realise now
are meant for us
To test that magnet
This invisible field
This attraction to each other
To be damned by others who cannot see
Invisible but real this magnetic field
