I look in the mirror,
And what do I see
A battle-weary form
Staring back at me.

A stone-cold face,
I’ve had since birth,
A hard natural shield,
From the pains of this earth.

However, as I look,
Two other things I find;
Eyes that still possess fire,
And a smile that is kind.

But no mirror ever made,
Can, without imperfection,
Bend light enough to offer,
Of me, a true reflection.

For only I, Like you,
Can see that which is inside,
And fully comprehend
The skills that bring one pride.

So, advice once given me,
I now wish to give to you,
Remember this above all,
To thine own self be true.
