The Mississippi river’s water was a greenish blue
I lay on a steamboat with my girlfriend Mary Sue
Bits of yellow broke through the dusty gray-blue sky
I sat watching with my hand on her thigh

There’s a city in the distance, shaped like a Roman place
My wife and I could hear the muses singing with grace
As the boat neared the place, the crew seemed worried
I asked the captain what was wrong while the crew scurried

“We’ve never heard of this place. It’s not on the maps.”
Upon hearing this, Mary Sue gasps,
“What do you mean you never heard of it?”
But with her question, she just has to sit.

We came ashore and saw to our shock
giant, bipedal crocs!
Dressed in suits like old Southern gentleman
With tails like the cedars of Lebanon.

The captain, upon seeing this, decided to turn the other way
We tried to take a picture, but it came out all gray
Thus is the tale of our sight of the crocs
And my honeymoon down by the docks
