My dog Harriet, a furry little dog,
Half Jack Russell Terrier and half Chihuahua,
Trouble on four legs,
My little companion.

When I adopted her six months ago,
Harriet wasn't the dog that I wanted,
Nor was Harriet my first choice,
But Harriet was the dog that I needed.

My constant companion.
My conscience on four legs.
My favorite guilt tripper.
Always begging for more of my food.

As we wander the streets,
I cherish my little Harriet,
As we spend quietly evenings in the apartment,
I value Harriet more and more.

Who could have abandoned such a great pet ?
Harriet is ferocious but loyal,
Back in December, Harriet saved me from a bozo in the park.
My favorite ferocious beast.

I don't know who abandoned Harriet the dog,
But she is mine now.
We are together for life.
Two rejects who form a strong bond.
Let the world beware !
