Click hereBreathless clouds lull me to sleep
But just before I fall too deep
I see a door that's been ignored
Faded colors crumble and decay
As I push the entrance straight away
A carpet of dirt, kissing my skirt
The sunlight winks through waves of trees
I recognize the whispering welcomed breeze
Caressing my hair, warmth permeating the air
My heart leaps when I see the clearing
Verdant, grassy emeralds start appearing
Waving hello, the sun making them glow
Blue reflections squint back at you
As I run over taking in the view
Remembering this place, joy etched on my face
Beneath the wooden roof my mind strays away
Wondering why I haven't come back til this day
A whole decade was how long I strayed
Feeling renewed I welcome my old friend
The sky starts to dim as sleep comes in
Walking through the trees, much more at ease
Taking a deep breath as I let out a sigh
I take a good look, my spirits feeling high
Closing the door now newly restored
Thank you all! Your kind words keep me motivated to write.
