Her scent would linger
on my tongue
long after
we were done,
With the actions
we pursued
on our lunch-break
interludes,

Worked in the same
sterile place
part of the
big rat race,
In the city
both too shy
but we met
my-oh-my,

We had coffee
then had lunch
each of us
had a hunch,
That we might like
something more
perhaps behind
some noon-day door,

How it happened
I don’t know
but we both said
hey, let’s go,
And we went
and we did
a can of worms
an open lid,

Things got complicated
fast
we knew
it wouldn’t last,
But we’re glad
we did it right
sometimes noon’s
better than night …
