My two lovers
North and South
knew each other
by word of mouth,
But never crossed
paths, you see
until that night
in ’93,

At a jazz club
the Blue Note Too
drinking whisky
me and you,
In she walked
the other one
I said, oh shit
a loaded gun,

Looked each other
up and down
it seemed they liked
what they found,
Monogamy
was not in vogue
our free love culture
with music by Moog,

Ordered a whisky
grabbed a chair
one had short
and one long hair,
One was blonde
one brunette
a high-wire act
without a net,

They talked
and I listened
a sheen of sweat
that probably glistened,
When the conversation
turned to sex
I was somewhat
perplexed,

They talked about me
Like I wasn’t there
discussed the act
when and where,
Places we
might cavort
both were wearing
a mini-skirt,

I knew both naked
each square inch
where one didn’t
like being pinched,
Where the other
liked being kissed
a place I never
ever missed,

One was vocal
one was quiet
both were thin
both on a diet,
Of natural food
and brown rice
all four breasts
were extra nice,

We usually did it
twice a week
then in the morning
would often seek,
A quickie in
the bed, or shower
before work
that early hour,

Now, they had lovers
other than me
the way it was
in ’93,
Our private parts
were not exclusive
back then sex
not that illusive,

So after a lot
more to drink
they asked me what
I would think,
of a three-way
North, South and me
I reached for
my car key,

I mostly watched
held my erection
while they had sex
with open affection,
The quiet one
was shouting praise
hadn’t been fuck
that well, in days,

When it was my turn
both seemed enthralled
by the texture
of my balls,
Had sex with one
and then the other
delighted by
things we discover,

We fell asleep
the three of us
no muss
no fuss,
The next morning
while the coffee brewed
we wasted no time
and again screwed …
