A new stranger
in the night
brief moment
of delight,
She and I
meant to be
I doubt it but
we will see,

Here because
the usual facts
alcohol and
long flight tracks,
The plane, the bar
the hotel ride
sitting there
by my side,

Same hotel
same floor
something to
stave off the bore,
And now we are
in bed together
comparing lives
discuss the weather,

Wants, wishes
hopes, desires
simmering
boiler fires,
In the depths
of our souls
but tonight
our only goal,

Pass the night
un-isolated
perhaps even
satiated,
With a glean
of perspiration
perhaps some sense
of excitation,

I run my hand
across her skin
she touches me
once again,
Twist her hair
around my finger
time slows down
and we linger,

On a cloud
high in the sky
asking not
where or why,
Uncertain of
the time zone
and most certainly
not alone,
