The girl of my dreams lives far away
Where her imagination protects her by day
But the words she writes do not console
The longing I feel in the depths of my soul
We never have met nor ever will we
For she lives far away across a great sea
But each night in my dreams when I see her face
I am holding her close in a tender embrace
My thoughts of her fill my heart with great passion
Which cannot be quenched in any known fashion
So she lives within my dreams in the night
Where I can protect her 'neath the glowing moonlight
If I could just feel the warmth of her kiss
My heart would surely melt in heavenly bliss
But she is only a dream and she'll never be real
At least not for me though my heart she did steal
