on the day i was born
i became the owner of a huge
        complete library

i was gifted with volumes and collections
        of art writing science
        and even chess

        the day was exactly
in the middle of The WAR
        and from the first moment
        my monographs were vanishing

        the long war was over
        but my library
        kept losing its shelve residents
my hand would reach for a work
        which was no longer there

        I still enjoy the remnants
        they bring me peace

Simple but suggestive?

Greenmountaineer, thank you for your kind comment. The actual comment on the poem, after an introductory remark, you have started with wise "For me". Indeed, my poem is simple but, I hope, "suggestive" (a haiku term which means something like "prone to interpretations").

The given copy (above) has two errors--the correct version is here:

Thank you again,

As with most of your work, Senna, I had to read it several times to imagine the connections in it.

For me the enthusiasm, optimism, and energy from the earliest time gets depleted. War's end leaves a stark landscape of burnt books.
