One breath
is all it would take
and you could touch me
in ways you haven’t before

One breath
one entreaty - please
just one word - now
one mere whisper
falling from
trembling lips
one mere answer
yes

One breath
almost soundless
and our world would change
our lips would meet
our hands would link
our eyes would seek
and find

One breath and then
on a gasp
our bodies would join
trembling hands
and pounding hearts
desire and lust
and sweet relief
just one breath
between us
we’d sink into each other
and nearly drown

One breath
then two
then more, again
growing faster,
rising
my breath
across your cheek
your breath
down my neck
shallow, sharp
panting now
as we move together
in silent rhythm
eyes brilliant
glowing
pleasure almost
like pain
breathless, aching
reaching for each other
in a bliss of release
our cries
escaping in one long
agonizing
breath

One breath
not yours
not mine
but ours
a sigh
a quiet whisper
the rise and fall
of my head on your chest
your hand on my hair
the beat of your heart
and the sound
of your breath
smooth and peaceful
and content
