One too many goodbyes more than I can tolerate
Must have been a fool thinking you could ever wait
Turn the lights down low the hour’s getting late
And come together pondering the word insatiate

Misty morning memories just frozen there in time
Following electric nights orgasmic and sublime
Fate’s a train arriving just to smash my paradigm
Wish I could write a poem that didn’t have to rhyme

So many roads connected by gray streets or avenues
Walked so many since you left to walk away my blues
Think I’ll read the comics and skip the current news
Finally see the colors each shade and all the hues
