like Snyder’s poem
float in my brain
but not too long,
Warm one hand
on your breast
the future not
hard to guess,
All day clouds
and floating mist
now steady rain
I can’t resist,
My other hand
your other side
hold you tight
and slowly ride,
Through a dream
late afternoon
early evening
to be here soon,
Then a long
winter’s night
in the dim
candlelight,
I watch you slowly
remove each layer
the clothes you wear
each piece I savor,
As you place them
on the chair
remove the ribbon
from your hair,
Stand there naked
the candle glow
I try to guess
what you might know,
That I will never
understand
where the pieces
all might land,
With magic charm
you pull me close
I have my way
and almost,
Forget who I
and who you are
how we ever
got this far,
Next morning comes
and slowly goes
retrace our steps
put on our clothes,
We both had plans
to fly away
but decide to stay
for one more day,
