A written script ‘twas at first that carved out the lake,
While sun, fern, trees and breeze danced in joyful wake.
My heart captured by his words, my senses mesmerized,
I watched people sunk in trance, drunk on nature’s sake.

The place stayed, through the years, rooted in my mind,
Ablaze with visions of his frame, trail-bound, outlined.
This picture always comforting, showing how the lake
Brought him peace and serenity, blissfully combined.

When I heard his rumbling voice paint the lake again,
I knew this image, in my heart, forever will remain.
I wore his smile and sat servile while he set about
Breathing life in every drop, livening up each grain.

No, we didn’t truly know this lake’s magical delight
Would so enchant our voyage, thus enthrall our flight,
Ignite our wondrous love with such unfettered insight,
And be our anchor, harbor and a sanctum of respite.

Lo! To the crystalline lake he steered us at last,
Just as he had guided through present and past.
Whether careening deep waters or cruising ashore,
The vessel of our tacit love kept afloat steadfast.

He is the lake untold while the seasons unfold.
At night sterling silver and by day glittering gold.
Each unfurling shimmer holding a new splendor
And every flickering glimmer, precious to behold.
