All come round and make a square.
Some verse I lend your ears!
Some verse of ignorant philosophy,
some verse for modern years!

Regardless of individual names,
each piece shares one same rule:
Come follow us with loving arms,
reciting The Poetry of Fools!

Truly a collection of greats from the greatest names!
Shall we clap our hands and regress?
‘Cause our prophets and poets have learned restraint,
as our beloved verse suggests.

Both dogma and diatribes of a million ages gone
are wrapped in this prosy gift.
Which teaches a million lessons, of a million sins
that lead a million hearts adrift.

And this work of great will never rest.
It gets bigger every day!
With bygone years and sharpened tears
it beats with the heart of a play

And its because we all write a piece of this latest great,
with faith and doubt as tools.
That we choose a self titled name:
The Poetry of Fools.

Without exception, its clearly a hit
throughout lands far and wide!
But with insipid faith and mass distaste,
even parallel dreams collide!

For no matter how clean or reverent it be,
we refuse to hear ourselves speak,
‘Cause a simple sin destroys a perfect man,
and our self image (God forbid!) grows weak.

And what of the lessons taught in this mild verse?
Lessons of life, of love and of hate!
Truly they are the lessons that change men’s hearts,
lessons that we all wish to relate!

So lets cherish these words of congenial lies.
For they change every minute, every day!
‘Cause it would be a tremendous sin, to be caught in a web
where we no longer knew what to say.

And what would we do? Would we lie? Would we weep?
If our faith could no longer be found at the mall.
Or would we awaken with the truth of our souls,
released from our self-built walls?

Yet these points are muted by our own regrets,
as we stagger the proverbial line.
‘Cause we gather beliefs from painted glass,
And proclaim with arrogance, “these are mine”.

So stanza by stanza, verse by verse,
the poetry expands.
If not by dazzling brilliance,
simply by ignorant hands.

And it comes with the need to believe,
that we sink into these foggy pools,
because only humanity could write
The Poetry of Fools
