What y-all doin’
Saturday morning, damp
waitin’ for the glue to dry
‘fore taking off the clamp?
Looking for your underwear
said you wore them here
but standing there naked
‘side the bedroom mirror,

So, you put on my Levi’s
tee-shirt I was wearing
calibrate your compass
set a kitchen bearing,
Boil up some water
grind the coffee beans
two cups of strong coffee
as the lake mist steams,

Like something in a movie
two strangers in the woods
or they might be lovers
flush with stolen goods,
Walk out on the deck
bare feet on wet wood
I ask how you are feeling
you say: damn, god, good …
