Baby steps
Taking my time
Honey, I see that she broke your heart
I am so aware of your lines
I just want to make you smile
Want to laugh with you
Spend time in your space
Want to tell you you’re worth it
That I love seeing your face

You’re constantly teaching me
So much about myself
Opening my mind
Like no body else
But when I leave your bed
I’m smiling just on the outside
Told you my wants and needs
But reciprocity continues to hide

I don’t need your love
Don’t need to hear the word “forever”
Don’t think I don’t see you avoiding
Hate to tell you it’s now or never
You say you don’t want to hurt me and I believe
But would it be too hard to say you want me?
Do I need to get on my knees?

Friends with benefits
Has such a frigid sound
Don’t think I am pining
When you aren’t around
I am not in love
But that doesn’t mean I don’t need some
Need to hear I matter to you
That I’m not just anyone

Is it so very hard
To give me just a little hope?
That you see the difference in me?
That I’m worth keeping close?
What do I need to do
To show you I am a prize?
Why can’t you see me
Through unclouded eyes?

I have been willing to wait
To give you your time
But the crumbs you feed me
Don’t nourish my mind
Do you keep your own counsel
Because I am not beautiful
Can’t you lie just a little
Tell me the rest of me is wonderful?

Don’t touch me if you don’t really want me
Don’t hold me if you don’t give a fuck
Be my friend and my sometime lover
Or tell me to give up
I am willing to admit
I push and push til I break
But keep me because I am precious
Or just give me away

Stop breaking my heart with silence
The truth may hurt but it’s real
My heart could hold the world
I don’t know how not to feel
My imagination is wild
And the joy is shadowed in doubt
I have a friend who seems to get me
That I could never be happy without

But love me for my heart
Tell me you treasure my soul
Tell me my body is just a cage
That you see my many parts that make up the whole
Tell me I am just a little special
That I do make you smile
Just tell me anything
That says you find me worthwhile

Or tell me to rewrite my mind
To recalibrate and change
To accept my position as an extra
On your life’s stage
I don’t mind; I love to watch you live
I just need to know where I stand
And if you even care to accept that which only I can give

Because my body may not be a masterpiece
Maybe I am awkward and strange
But my soul is a vibrant rainbow
No one will ever change
Let me light up your sky
Tell me you see my colors
And I will shine for you
Never comparing myself to others

I am here, ever questioning
Why you touch me at all
When you’re terrified any affection
Will make me fall
I just need to know I am needed
I need to hear you care
And if it’s all smoke and mirrors
It’s time to clear the air

Loved it

All those feelings! I bet I’ve felt them all at one time.

Hard to feel them all at the same time. Powerful. Overwhelming?

I bet your body is a masterpiece.

Right in the Damned Gut...

This here did me in, T. On a connection scale of 1-10, this was a standout 9.98... I've, in my own way, been where your poem describes and had these feelings before (and recently, too). As a differently-abled man who must contend with the internal and external trials, tribulations of having the physical challenge of cerebral palsy daily, I yearn for some type of connection with my pleasure partner(s) all of whom are strictly online for reasons... I just want to feel that though we may not find each other a permanent fixture in our lives or respective playtimes, my time with them genuinely matters to them... that for however brief the time we're together, I genuinely matter to them. "Tell me my body is just a cage

That you see my many parts that make up the whole

Tell me I am just a little special". These are just SOME of the lines that steamrolled my gut. I'm a recent Tempest_Wolfsong fan - I found you, your exceptional recordings through exploring the text with audio section, became a fan as I realized I was an acousticophile. However, with this piece, you've expressed so eloquently some of the feelings I eagerly desire to. Thus, I feel I must say thank you, you've made a fan for life. XXX
