His voice rings in my ears as I stand there
Staring at the numbers on the hotel door
Reaching a gloved hand up, I smooth my hair
And tentatively knock, not sure
What I am walking into tonight
He opens the door and I lower my eyes
He tilts my chin up and says it’s all right
I pray that those words are not lies.
He takes my hand and leads me into the room
I was warned against this, why am I here?
Wind sucks the door shut with a boom
He assures me that there is nothing to fear
I perch tensely on the edge of the bed
Thinking of all of the things that he said.

It's so many words that hide so many things the reader wishes to know...one hell of a tease.

Thanks for sharing
