Alone here in the darkness,
with no light to be found.
Alone no matter where I am,
or who may be around.

I want to let the light in,
to see it warmly shine.
To have the share of happiness,
that I know should be mine.

Instead I live in darkness,
unable to feel joy.
Unloved and feeling cast away,
just like a broken toy.

No matter how I try,
the darkness seems to stay.
Always a cursed companion,
until my dying day.

Never will I shake it,
or ever feel the joy.
Unloved and feeling cast away,
just like a broken toy.

Instead, I must continue,
to soldier through the pain.
To try and make the best of things,
with happiness to gain.
