She crept silently up to me
and spoke in a foreign tongue
I never heard before.
Her cold dark eyes made me
shiver and my fears faded as
she changed her tongue.
" Hello young man " she said
to me before she added...
" are you here by yourself? "
I said " I am " and then she
smiled the prettiest smile I
had never seen at all before.
The dark skinned lady was
not that old and she spoke and
asked " what you doing here? "
" I'm on vacation " but I didn't
tell her I was there for the funeral
of a close friend.
Finally she lifted her veil and
her long silky black hair along
with her sweet smile shone on me.
" I know you are here for the funeral
of a friend " she said whispering.
I gulped and said " yes that's true. "
Without batting an eyelash she
gave me the sweetest kiss and I
smiled and then she said...
" thank you for coming to see
my brother laid to rest, have a
safe trip back home."
Then she smiled and walked away.
