Alas, departed from my soul's safe dwelling,

A sudden wrench, a pang, my heart compelling.

A sickening weight within my gut does start,

An ache profound, tearing my core apart.

No vestige left, save remnants of no worth,

A spent rubber left to soil, in moments of mirth.

I gaze upon it, pain and anger collide,

For love's pure fountain, once so youthfully supplied.

She sought in pleasures, fleeting and material,

A larceny profound, extinguished love's heart's fervor.

Yet, happiness eludes, remains ethereal.

In pleasures' quest, both mine and hers forsaken,

A sacrilege profound, joy's sanctuary shaken.

With lover's theft, my joy she did uncover,

Yet, time will weave a fate she can't smother.

In the mirror of remorse, she'll rue the day,

Her heart, once free, entangled in a play.

As memories fade, regrets will bloom,

A haunting echo in her silent room.

For pleasures fleeting and material,

Lead not to bliss, but shadows ethereal.

An extrodinary poem that blends the saddness of betrayal with the longing for regret.

This is a heartfelt sadness and emphasizes the feelings of remorse and regret a cheating spouse will earn for betrayal.
