The fearsome hatch yawns before me,
I never dreamed I’d be forced to confront it again so soon,
The terrible portal beyond which lies doubt, danger, and uncertainty,
I don’t know if I can bear to pass through it yet again,
It takes nearly all I have just to stand before it,
Steeling my resolve, I step closer,
My mind awash with fear at the nightmares that lay beyond,
I inch forward, wanting nothing so much as to retreat to sanctuary,
Another step and I am nearly through,
I brace myself for what I must surely endure on the other side,
I finally am through, and no longer have time to waste,
My day has just begun.
