You could've heard
An audible snap
When my eyes slid
Up to meet his.
My heart stopped.
I shouldn't have
Done that. I didn't
Mean to.
The submissive edges
Of me, combined with
The frailty of the moment
And the look slipped
Out of my control.
He looked at me
With commanding eyes
That knew this look
Very well.
I think I stopped
Breathing, at the time.
Felt myself go loose
At the edges and
Tripped on my own
Daydream.
The smirk on his face
Was a loaded gun,
And I a rabbit
In his sight.
