Click hereI stood upon the highest peak,
Arms extended as I wait.
But you chose to shut me out,
Hiding in a bottle and your self-loathing.
Love is patient.
I stood upon the highest peak,
The storm raged all around me.
Your tears washed down like rain,
The echoes of your cries on the wind.
Love endures.
I stood upon the highest peak,
Basking in the sun,
Yet feeling so cold and tired.
Wondering where you are.
Love always hopes.
I died upon that highest peak,
Perishing from the hunger,
Of a love unfed.
A pile of ash where I once stood.
Love hurts.
If you love someone, set them free.
If they return, it was meant to be.
I would rather hurt than not have loved.
I am the phoenix and shall rise again.
Love conquers all.
This beautiful, piercingly poignant poem went straight to my heart! Thank you!

Thank you darling Pixie. The best is yet to come as the old ash disappears.
Thank you for your kind feedback Aural. May you rise stronger than ever.
To all of you who had a relationship end, let the New Year be your renewal. Rise from the ashes and be the phoenix, stronger than ever.
