The spoon rests there
Its usual place
A grimy film upon its face
Its recent use had cream no doubt,
It sits there with a mess about
And had it ears to hear me speak
I wonder what its secrets keep
And if coerced would virtues fall
To spill its guts and bare us all,
The office spoon - a friend to each
But murderer its heart could leach
For germs and death could harbor there
And not a second thought I'd care
Just plunge it in my cup of brew
And mix the poisonous residue,
Then choke and gag until I'd die
And all around would wonder why
But there t' would sit
That odious spoon,
And I a ghost,
And much too soon.
