The beauty of the rose I see
outside the castle wall.
Summer soon is fading,
turning now to fall.

The beauty never lasting,
too soon it will be lost.
The changing of the seasons,
the time it takes its cost.

The fall leaves with their colors,
soon will all be brown.
Making winter's carpet,
while lying on the ground.

Then spring will be upon us,
the rose again will grow.
No longer to be bothered
by winter's fallen snow
