I step off the train
and I know right away
that I'm miles from my destination.

I walk up the stairs
to the platform above
where the one that I love
should be waiting.

But all I can see
is cold apathy
and I'm sadly aware
that none of you care
that I've gotten off
at the wrong station.

My commuter line has frequent trains, so I can catch the next one.

But what if I get off at the wrong station in life?

When will the next train arrive to continue my journey?

And, do I need to change lines and buy a new ticket?

Damn, haven't we all done that, once in Japan a snowstorm, had to wait a hour to back-track to get on the correct train
