I stand before this lake of ice.
Once I'm in it won't be nice.

Today's weather was cold enough.
Everyone started calling my bluff.

The ice around me started to crack.
Lucky for me I had my last snack.

Diving in cold ice was not my intention.
I felt this idea would gain some attention.

No one here and no one there.
Not a soul around to even care.

The ice underneath takes me down.
I feel the cold before I slowly drown.

The icy river never made it easy.
Suddenly I was feeling very queasy.

My heart beat, my teeth grind.
People would say I lost my mind.

My eyes close and frozen shut.
I'm worth more than a mangy mutt.

The deeper I go, the colder I get.
My mind drifts and I'm all wet.

My body grows stiff as an icicle.
I'm soft and yummy as a Popsicle.

I breathe in my one last breath.
I never thought I'd freeze to death.
