Thinking of a ballad with lessons sometimes learned
Thinking of some bridges that I gladly burned
Maybe shoulda’ got off before I burned it down
When I bury something in the past I put it underground
Tried to write a poem when my mind begins to shout
Thinking I may never quite figure any of it out
Put it down on paper then put it back in my head
Arranged all for the better but just maybe
I’ll figure more out when I’m dead
If life’s a big ol’ 3D Chess board
I’ve been playing Chinese Checkers
Walked through some doors due to brains
controlled by eager peckers
Life may be a mystery
of that I have no doubt
Thinking of a poem
where I turn it all inside out
