It spreads through our veins
crawls into the spaces between the things that make us, us
it grabs hold, pulls tight
it chokes, strangles, binds us in ways we never imagined
it flowers, blooms, holds us together
it grows in the most unlikely of places
its naturally beautiful as it coils around us
complex and simple in its growth
it grows towards the light
even in harsh winter it holds strong
this love like ivy
