Author’s note:
This is one day of a four day series about our Throuple family vacation. I’ve broken the days into parts for easier reading. I know these are long. And I know they are more romantic than erotic. But they are a part of the bigger story. This is the first time we have vacationed all together. Fun was had by all. Especially me. 💜

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Part l
I wake up first.
Make my cuppa tea.
And a pot of coffee
for you
and her.
I miss you.
But I text her,
I’m on the balcony
come sit with me
before the boys wake up.
She joins me,
smiling,
her tousled hair
falling over her eyes.
I smooth it away,
kiss her good morning.
We drink our tea and coffee
and talk
our feet in each other’s laps.
You soon join us
and we decide
to go for a walk
all together.
After a while
Your boy is tired of walking
so she and he
go back to the room.
I tell her I will go with her.
It’s ok, she says,
you can walk with him.
So you and I
keep walking
We find a quiet path
to a quiet deck
overlooking the ocean.
We kiss.
Hold hands.
I wrap my body
around yours
from behind
You turn.
Kiss me again.
Tuck me against you.
Rest your chin
on the top of my head.
I feel safe
and happy
and loved
We walk some more.
Decide we are hungry.
I text her and ask
if she wants to meet us
for breakfast.
She says no, you guys go ahead.
We wind up at a kitchy 50s diner.
Eat pancakes.
Then walk back to the hotel,
hand in hand,
back to her.
Part ll
We all go to the beach.
Take turns
playing in the ocean
with your boy
He eventually wants
to go to the pool.
She and he leave.
You and I stay.
You ask her
for a kiss
before she goes.
She obliges,
leans over you
from behind your chair
gives you a peck.
And then she leaves.
And I wish you hadn’t.
Wish she hadn’t.
Wish I hadn’t heard you,
seen you,
I am angry jealous sad.
And then
you move to the chair
closest to me.
Her chair.
And say,
Come here.
Kiss me.
It is not a request.
And it is not a peck.
Stop being jealous,
You say.
You’re mine.
Come on,
walk with me.
And we walk
for miles
hand in hand
until my feet blister
from the hot sand.
I don’t care.
She is gone and
I am yours.
And that’s all that matters.
Part lll
After the beach
We go back to the room.
It is my night
with her
I take her to dinner,
a classic seaside fish house.
We order cocktails.
Sit at the bar.
Flirt with the cute bartender.
He says he is flattered,
but has a wife.
She and I look at each other.
She rolls her eyes.
I giggle.
I say to him,
And we have a husband.
And we laugh
at the look
on his face.
We eat oysters and lobster.
We drink wine.
Then we go back to the hotel.
Back to you.
And then it is your turn again.
We walk the boardwalk,
hand in hand.
You put your arm around me.
You say, Mine.
I say, Yes.
We chat and kiss our way
back to the room,
back to her.
In the elevator I say,
Come here.
It is not a request.
You lean to me
I kiss you
and say,
Good night, sweetheart.
We go into the room and
again she is in bed
sleeping next to your boy.
And you go to your bed
even though I offer mine.
You shut the door
between our rooms,
between us.
I go to my bed
alone
glad to hear
only sleep sounds
on the other side
of the wall.
I smile.
You would not be sleeping yet
if you were in bed
with me.
Thank you BlissMara! If you are new to my work please feel welcomed to follow the journey. I’ve been sharing the story of my throuple life here for quite some time. And part three and four of our vacation have been submitted and will hopefully post soon. 💜
Wow, I just had such an incredible roller coaster of emotion, from tears in my eyes, to jealousy, to sadness for you, to heaviness for her, to "yeah, he wouldn't be sleeping if he were in bed with you" fist pump. Your writing does the job! That was INTENSE. Thank you for sharing such intimacy, on so many levels. Your writing is so very beautiful and true and real. I enjoyed this so much and will re-read again for the nuances.
Ah Paul. It’s not that cut and dry. We all have switches. I mostly choose to leave mine on. He can’t. Shining his light for me on her puts her in my shadow. And that won’t work for any of us. So we choose where to direct our lights. Because are all, in our own ways, very generous with each other. 💜
From where you sit, there is a constant desire for him. Yet, he seems able to turn his attention to each of you in turn, as if his emotions we controlled by a switch.
And she is exceptionally generous…..
Yes lc absolutely true. After living through 25 years in a was supposed to be monogamous marriage, learning to navigate the emotions of a Throuple can be challenging. But also absolutely worth it 💜
